Manguwangan, also known as Manguangan and Mangguangan, are inhabitants of the Cordillera Sugut Mountains in Mindanao. They are known to practice ethnoreligion, which is deeply rooted in the people’s indigenous identity. In practicing this ethnoreligiousity, you must completely immerse yourself in the community’s culture and learn the Lumad ways.
One particular tradition that is still alive today among the tribe is land ownership. In their tradition, the land is a communal property and can freely be enjoined by the members of the indigenous community as long as these lands are still unoccupied.
