The Manobo tribe has made a numerous sub-groups and communities occupying areas Sarangani Island and in mainland Mindanao – Agusan del Sur, Davao, Bukidnon, South and North Cotabato. Few of Major sub groups of the Manobos are the, Atas, Bagobos, Higaonons, Banwaons, Bukidnons, and in areas of North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Western Bukidnon, Agusan del Sur.
The Manobos adopted to the environment where they reside, from the coastal regions, to the challenging terrains in the interiors of Mindanao. They settled around with kin-oriented groups and often situated in swidden field. Agricultural practice are the main source of livelihood, cultivating multi-cropped and intercropped. Rice legume, yams corn, and sweet potato are main agricultural production. The community practices hunting and food gathering.
