Mansaka group, is largely found in Davao del Norte and dominantly in Compostela Valley. They are believe in the area since time immemorial, or they called since time of ‘Magababaya’ (Creator). They occupy the Mawab River Valley and the region included between the Hijo, Mawab, and Madawan Rivers.
Agriculture is the main sources of living of the community. They are particular in the management of their farming activities. They assigned persons in the management of farm. Commonly men are tasked to till the land and farming activities, while women are assigned to produce clothing and weave mats and help during the planting, weeding and harvesting.
Beside from farming the community still hunts, wild boar, deer and other animals in the wild and divided to the community to share. Fishing from rivers and streams are also observed. They place importance in the territories as this can be a beginning of tribal wars. Territorial disputes are the common cause of the inter-tribal wars, in the event of infringement it often leads to conflicts.
